Kei Mouth has a secret that ought to be let out of the bag more often. It lies at the end of a dirt road where a shaggy–haired local legend has created a bamboo paradise that shuns the rat race and evokes an African island paradise.

No street signs tells you where it is, but once at the BUSH PIG, you can sip icy beer while perched on a wooden bar stool, play giant checkers and take in laid back music and enjoy an African atmosphere. That's if you are lucky enough to have heard about it, if so, you will find the 60 year old Ian Bradley leaning on the pub that has no doors and no locks and was set up fourteen years ago as part of his successful backpackers business.

He says, "I tried to create a little bit of African ambience, as a lot of my customers are foreign tourists, but the locals also enjoy it". "Every season it got bigger and today it's possibly the busiest pub in town". The Bushpig is a late night venue, if you get there at 22:00 you will think it is not busy, but hang around until midnight and it becomes packed, a full stage lies to the one side, with guitars hanging on the wall, and a full drum kit (in which the Jack Russell's sleep) and live music is on offer over holiday periods.
