Attractions in Kei Mouth

Probably the biggest attraction Kei Mouth offers is its proximity to the The Wild Coast, which is easily accessible via a short ferry ride across the Kei River on The Pont, and is an excellent base for days trips to attractions like The Jacaranda and Qolora.

Kei Mouth also offers several beaches that are ideal for bathing and a large sandy river mouth area with plenty of braai places. Kei Mouth also boasts an excellent shell collection at the Hazel Jefferies Shell Museum and there are several craft shops and eateries nearby in Grosvenor Square.

4km past the neighbouring village of Morgan Bay, one finds the tranquil Double Mouth Nature Reserve and Bead / Treasure Beach, where the Santo Espirito floundered 400 years ago. Here you will find carnelian beads, money cowries and pieces of broken porcelain among the shells on the beach.

Endalweni Private Game Reserve is just 8km away and offers game drives through gently undulating terrain and magnificent gorges that play host to over 20 species of wildlife and an abundance of birdlife.
